Badlaav SRF joins forces with Pune Ploggers and Global Shapers Community Pune to aid menstrual literacy

A staggering 23 million girls in India drop out of school annually due to lack of proper information and access to MHM. Badlaav SRF has entered into collaboration with Pune Ploggers and Global Shapers Community Pune to implement a structured and organised menstrual health management (MHM) programme for schools in and around Pune. With the Period Ease x Project SAKSHAM programme, the collaboration aims to facilitate menstrual literacy by eradicating misinformation about periods, conducting educational sessions to foster understanding of the menstrual cycle and promoting sustainable menstrual products available in the market. 

Sanitary Waste (Mis)management

Approximately 377 tonnes of sanitary napkins are used in India daily, amounting to a colossal 12.3 billion used sanitary napkins in a year. Sanitary waste mismanagement doesn't just pose a hazard to the environment, but also to the health and dignity of sanitary waste pickers. How can sanitary waste management practices be improved to facilitate dignity of labour for them?
